Saints midfielder Greg Kiltie admits he’s loving being tasked with more of a familiar attacking role this season. But after a couple of seasons as something of a bit-part player in Paisley that’s been more used to coming into the fray off the bench, the 26-year-old insists he’s happy to play anywhere as long as he keeps his place in the starting line-up.
Stephen Robinson adapted his 3-5-2 formation over the summer, with Kiltie currently playing wide in a 5-2-3 or 4-3-3 that reverts back into the previous system when out of possession.
That position is more akin to the winger role that Kiltie made his name in at Kilmarnock, also shining out wide and bagging goals for Scotland’s Under-19s earlier in his career.
Having found himself back in a wider slot this season, the creative playmaker is determined to hang onto his spot after a hugely promising start to the campaign for St Mirren.
