Green Day delivered a spoof speech while at the iHeartRadio Awards 2025. Check out footage of the moment below. The moment took place earlier this week at the ceremony for the iHeartRadio Awards 2025, which was held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and saw the pop-punk trio win the award for Alternative Artist Of The Year. After beating off competition from Cage The Elephant, Linkin Park, Sum 41 and Twenty One Pilots, the members – comprising Billie Joe Armstrong, Tré Cool and Mike Dirnt – took to the stage and used their speech to make a nod to the 1997 film Boogie Nights.Holding the award, Armstrong paraphrased the whole speech from the film while his bandmates started to laugh behind him.“Wow.

I don’t know what to say,” he began, quoting the scene where Mark Wahlberg’s character also takes to the podium to accept a trophy at an adult award show. “I guess the only thing I can say is, I’ll keep rocking and rolling to keep making music and better songs.”“You know it seems we make these records and sometimes they’re considered filthy by some people.

But I don’t think that’s true,” he continued. “This music we make can make people feel better. They can help, they really can, and I really believe that.

So we can always do better, so I’m going to keep trying if you guys keep trying. Let’s keep rocking and rolling.”A post shared by Green Day (@greenday)In case anyone missed the nod to the Paul Thomas Anderson film, Green Day also shared a post on Instagram after the ceremony.
