A Bolton curry house loved by boxer Amir Khan has been named as one of the best restaurants in the whole of the North West. Ayaan’s, on Old Road in Astley Bridge, has garnered a firm reputation for its selection of authentic Pakistani-Indian cuisine, including grilled meats, curries, and sharing platters, since opening nearly three years ago.
On Tuesday evening (August 27), the restaurant was one of the big winners at the Asian Restaurant Awards 2024, which were held at the Hilton Deansgate hotel.

READ MORE: 'This restaurant made me forget where I was - I thought I was in Dubai' “It’s a massive honour to receive this sort of recognition,” owner Mohammed Jabir told the Manchester Evening News. “We are always confident in what we offer and what we serve to our customers, but events like this are a big opportunity to recognise all the hard work of the people in the hospitality industry.” Mohammed, who runs the restaurant with business partner Ihsan Ullah, said the award win comes at a perfect time for Ayaan’s.
Not only will it be celebrating its third anniversary next month, but the venue is also currently undergoing a major refurbishment with a new menu on its way. “We are known for our authentic food,” Mohammed says as he is asked why he thinks Ayaan’s received the honour. “We are known for our Tawa sharing platters, as well as our mixed grills.
