The Great Scottish Run kicks off today (Saturday, September 30) and the much anticipated event will see dozens of runners descend on Glasgow over the weekend.Disruption to travel is expected in the city centre though with dozens of road closures in place from early Saturday morning until Sunday evening, Glasgow Live reports.The festival will include a 10k and half marathon on Sunday while a Junior and Mini event will take place on Saturday.
A total of 18 roads across Glasgow will be closed as the competition gets underway. Participants have been advised to use public transport and leave plenty of time to get o the starting line.
The following roads will be closed, according to the Glasgow City Council website: Saturday, September 30 - 4am to 3pm Saturday, September 30 - 5am to Sunday, October 1 - 4.30pm 15.00pm on September 29 to 16.00pm on September 30 15.00pm on September 30 to 16.30pm on October 1 04.00am on September 30 to 16.30pm on October 1 04.00am to 13.00pm on September 30 The Great Scottish Run takes place between Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1.
