Grandad gets his unusual dying wish granted by his family - it involves a JCB digger

A 72-year-old granddad's dying wish has been granted after he told his daughter that when his time came, he wanted a 'big exit'.

Grandfather-of-six, Roy Mellor, from Padiham, Lancashire, spent most of his life working in construction and sadly died on May 1 from heart disease.

He got the send off he had requested after his daughter Jane Dawtrey, 43, arranged for his final wishes to be carried out at his funeral on Monday.

Roy's coffin was carried to his grave in the jaws of JCB digger - as he had specifically requested.
