Kevin McCloud returned to present a new series of the hit Channel 4 home design show this week - but the first episode was a flop with some viewers.

Fans of the show blasted the designer, whose futuristic build in Devon, inspired by Dartmoor's granite Tors, ended up costing far more than his £800,000 budget, Birmingham Live reports.

Supercar investor Joe Priday and his wife Claire spent £2.5million on the 'Hux Shard' project, which covers 6,000 sq ft and stands seven feet tall.
