Grand Designs presenter Kevin McCloud has always been the master of home transformations on screen, but when it comes to his own life, he's much more private. The beloved 62 year old presenter became a household name after launching the first series of the Channel 4 architectural show in April 1999, and since then, he's graced our televisions in over 210 episodes across 21 series, not to mention numerous live events and spin-offs.
Despite his public persona, Kevin is notoriously tight-lipped about his personal affairs, especially his home life. He's never one to flaunt his own living space, despite being synonymous with home design excellence. "If I welcomed people into my lovely home every week in the pages of a magazine they'd soon see how incredibly dull it is," he previously shared with the Daily Mail. "It's important to maintain a bit of mystique. The more of your private life you put into the public domain, the smaller your private life becomes." In addition to his home, Kevin is also keen to keep his personal life out of the spotlight too with his relationships (both past and present) and his role as a doting father often kept away from the cameras.
However, throughout his twenty year career, small glimpses at his life have made it into the public domain. One of these glimpses was a closer look at Kevin's marriage to first wife Suzanna McCloud. The pair tied the knot back in 1996, and they enjoyed 23 years of marriage while residing in their historic farmhouse in Somerset.
