Grand designs couple left angered by presenter Kevin McCloud's criticism

Grand Designs presenter Kevin McCloud has faced some pretty harsh criticism from a couple featured on Wednesday's episode. After questioning Leigh and Richard's project, Kevin was told "we don't give a s*** about other's opinions" as the duo were quick to snap back.

Embarking on a the tricky task of transforming a derelict flour mill into a cottage, the couple have spent 17 months trying to turn the property into a liveable home.

However, the couple were left pretty angry when presenter Kevin of the Channel 4 show shared some doubts - reports The Daily Star.The episode airing on February 23 – which was originally broadcast in February last year – features Leigh and Richard taking on the ambitious renovation task on a small budget.One of the couple’s main ambitions was to transform the cottage whilst preserving many of the mill’s original features.And, as they are complete novices to the process of house transformation, their early plans hit a number of hurdles.Initially hoping to keep 80 per cent of the original wooden beams, Leigh and Richard were forced to replace every single one with new timber in order to improve the building’s structure.“We won’t have any money at the end of it, but we’ll have a lovely home,” Leigh admitted. “Failure isn’t an option here.”The couple even moved into a caravan inside a garage for months in order to preserve their finances for the buildTensions reached a high when Kevin McCloud questioned the amount of new features the couple had inserted.“Outside you can read the narrative history of this building, inside, however, it’s a work of fiction,” Kevin said.Visiting the property, Kevin observed: “New floor, new ceiling, new joists and beams, new walls because you’re plastering the walls,
