A couple's barn conversion has been compared to a "crematorium" by unimpressed Grand Designs viewers. Married Nathan and Amye purchased a plot of land in Lincolnshire for £100,000 with plans to build an old Dutch-style barn house with a contemporary twist.
Appearing on Channel 4's Grand Designs, the couple said they hoped to complete the build in 12 months with a budget of £400,000 - but it didn't exactly go to plan.
The property was to have a wing for Nathan's teens Noah and Eva, and a separate annexe for his mum and step-dad Rosie and Albert, who spent 13 years living in a static caravan.
