A gran who scooped £2.7million on the Lottery works nights stacking shelves at Marks & Spencer despite being worth a fortune.

Elaine Thompson, 64, said: “I’m sure I will go down as completely bonkers but I’ve had a ball.” The mum-of-two, who won the jackpot in 1995, has spent the past seven years working a 25-hour week in the food hall, starting at 2am.

She said: “I have a job because I can’t stay in the house, it would drive me nuts. “I love it. We stock the floor, do all the reductions.

I’ve made loads of fantastic friends and I get to meet the customers too. The guys at work are fantastic. “I was there two years before they knew I’d won the Lottery.
