A London GP surgery where a Salford woman's fatal blood clot was misdiagnosed as long Covid and anxiety has been placed under inspection, health bosses have confirmed.

Emily Chesterton was a patient at The Vale Practice in Crouch End after moving to London from Boothstown to pursue an acting career.

She was just 30 years old when she suffered a cardiac arrest, following a pulmonary embolism, having visited the GP practice on two occasions complaining of calf pain and shortness of breath.

The young actor was misdiagnosed after being seen by a physician's associate at the practice. An inquest earlier this year concluded that the physician associate should have sent Emily to a hospital emergency unit, and that if she had been treated, likely would have survived.
