We have a major update on Chanel Banks! In case you don’t recall, the actress who was in a few episodes of Gossip Girl back in the day was reported missing in November.

At first, everything sounded so terrifying — we’ve heard way too many stories where women just vanish and the endings are rarely happy… Her mom and her cousin, Lutchmin Judy Kumar and Danielle Singh, sounded the alarms when they hadn’t heard from Chanel in a while.

Then police got involved, fans got involved, and the two of them even suggested the poor girl may be in danger. After police actually found Chanel, they still weren’t convinced, either!

The actress posted some lengthy statements to Instagram where she explained she went to Texas on her own free will to get baptized — but that only led her mom and cousin to accuse her of joining a “cult”.
