Tana Ramsay, wife of the world-renowned chef Gordon Ramsay, shared her poignant journey of loss and motherhood with Giovanna Fletcher on her podcast Happy Mum, Happy Baby.Tana, who faced fertility challenges alongside her husband before welcoming six children, opened up about the deep pain of losing their son Rocky in 2016.
While celebrating the arrival of baby Jesse this year, Tana candidly discussed the grief that surrounds Rocky's stillbirth. She vulnerably recounted the uncertainty she faced during labour, telling Giovanna: "I remember saying to the amazing midwife 'What will happen?
Will he be born breathing? Will his heart be beating?' and she said 'I just don't know'." Further exhibiting their strong family bond, Tana revealed a heartfelt gesture from Gordon, who had missed previous births but was firmly by her side in this daunting moment: "I remember them just saying to me 'You know you there's nothing we can do now you're going to have to give birth,' and I remember Gordon just looked at me and said I'm not going anywhere, I'm staying in for this'." The couple's other children were also present, providing their mum with much-needed support.Tana revealed that one of the most challenging aspects of that dreadful day was "seeing them deal with it".
She confessed: "All the other kids were there and I think that was the hardest thing as well was seeing them deal with it and, sorry," the star apologised to Giovanna as her voice began to crack and she became tearful, to which the host kindly replied: "That's ok." After regaining her composure, Tana continued: "And how sad they were, and just how traumatic, because it was like a whole family pregnancy because they were so invested." Tana was in the fifth month of her.
