Gordon Ramsay's £12 breakfast roll has been criticised – but not over its price. Critics say it's missing something crucial.
The dish from the chef's Mayfair restaurant consists of a toasted brioche bun with Cumberland sausage, egg, and streaky bacon.
Gordon hailed it as "the perfect way to start your day" on Instagram.Shared by both Gordon and his restaurant Gordon Ramsay Bar and Grill, the roll sparked much debate online, with many saying, like Peter Kay once joked: "Has there nowt moist?"Followers pointed out in the comments the sandwich looks "too dry".
One fan said: "This is the first time I see one of your food creations and, in true restaurateur fashion, want to step into the kitchen and improve it." Another commented: "Gordon that bun is dry - where's the sauce at? " while a third agreed: "That looks so dry."Despite the criticisms, others praised Gordon's creation, with one person eager to switch to burger making and another describing the roll as "That looks scrummy."Earlier, the Bar and Grill posted a video of their Beef Wellington, with Gordon preparing it himself.
