Golden day for couples in Lanarkshire as they celebrate 50 years of marriage

It was a golden day for a number of couples across Lanarkshire this week as they celebrated 50 years of marriage.The provosts of South Lanarkshire Council and North Lanarkshire Council’s deputy provost jointly hosted a golden wedding reception in Hamilton, welcoming 88 couples to dance the afternoon away and remember their big day from 1972.South Lanarkshire provost, Margaret Cooper, said: “It was a wonderful occasion and fantastic to see the couples immense commitment and dedication to each another.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
