Hopefully, there’s more of a bounce. Universal’s Monkey Man booked at 3,029 theaters is seeing $4.3M today, including last night’s $1.4M, for what’s looking like a $10.5M opening.
Even at that level, I’m told the Dev Patel feature directorial debut will profit after all downstream revenues. Again, Uni acquired from the Bron bankruptcy for less than $10M.
