Addie Morfoot Contributor The first two episodes of the fourth season of the Forest Whitaker-led “Godfather of Harlem” will debut at the 27th annual Sarasota Film Festival.
Series co-creator Chris Brancato will be presented with the fest’s Innovation in Television Award, while the show’s Rome Flynn will receive the SFF Rising Star Award.
The premiere of the MGM+ series will serve as the festival’s centerpiece screening. The Florida-based festival will feature live and in-person screenings and events that will take place across Sarasota beginning on April 4.
The 10-day fest lineup includes 20 documentary features, 17 narrative features, and 41 short films. SFF will open with Peter Miller’s documentary “Marcella,” about culinary legend Marcella Hazan, while Taylor McFadden’s “Lovers,” about two women who return to their hometown for the funeral of a friend, will serve as the closing night event.
