On Tuesday (June 8), GMP had its busiest day of the year, with 3,628 calls were made, including 2,101 to 999. It follows a weekend in which almost 7,000 calls were made to the emergency number between Friday and Sunday.
GMP believes that the good weather, easing of lockdown restrictions and an increase in public events are all having an impact in the number of crimes being reported.
