Greater Manchester Police said it has referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) over previous contact with Bradford stabbing victim Kulsama Akter and suspect Habibur Masum.
The 27-year-old mum, who is from Oldham, was attacked in the Westgate area of the city as she walked with her baby on Saturday, April 6.
She was pushing a five-month-old baby boy in a pram at the time when she was stabbed in the neck. Police later named a man they are hunting in connection with the attack.
