A Greater Manchester Police officer has appeared in court charged over a Boxing Day crash which left a boy paralysed. Sarah De Meulemeester denied causing serious injury by dangerous driving before a district judge at Liverpool Magistrates' Court this morning.
The 25-year-old was on duty when the police car she was driving hit the boy on Garner's Lane in Stockport on Boxing Day 2020.
The boy, who was 15 at the time of the attack and cannot be named for legal reasons, remains in hospital due to the injuries he sustained as a result of the crash.
De Meulemeester spoke in court only to confirm her personal details and indicate that she would plead not guilty to the charge against her.
