Greater Manchester Police needs to do more to keep children safe and protect them from online exploitation, inspectors have said.
The force has 'good' child protection arrangements in place, according to a new report by the police inspectorate which also recommends improvements in some areas to make sure all risks to children are identified.
This includes how GMP investigates online exploitation, such as in cases when children are coerced to share indecent images of themselves, with the force criticised for 'missed opportunities'.
It comes after Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham commissioned an inspection into how GMP and its partners investigate allegations of child criminal and sexual exploitation and how they support victims and survivors.
