'Glock 17 bro' - gang converted blank firing pistols into deadly weapons in Gorton 'factory' to sell to gangsters

A gang bought blank firing pistols from shops across the country before converting them into deadly guns to sell on to gangsters for profit.

The six-strong outfit, led by Gavin Donald, bought 41 blank firing pistols and four boxes of ammunition over a near 12 month period.

The pistols and ammo were then taken to conspirator Daniel Hughes’ home in Gorton, which was used as a ‘factory’ to transform the blank firing pistols into lethal weapons.

The gang preferred to buy pistols which were replicas of Glock or Beretta pistols, models said to be ‘more appealing to the criminal market’, Minshull Street Crown Court heard.
