A global paint producer is planning a £10m expansion in Bolton with the council set to agree the sale of derelict land. A decision is set to be made next week on the sale of land near Kestor Street in the town to Sherwin-Williams, a global paint manufacturer who wish to expand from their nearby premises.
The council is set to sell the freehold of the site for £740,000 to enable the investment, subject to planning permission being granted.
Bolton Council said the decision to dispose of the site would create jobs and provide the local community with a new play area.
The site, which sits on the corner of Kestor Street and Bury New Road, is mostly brownfield land with a small, unused, play area in the south-east corner.
