A new website aims to be a one-stop shop for information about the Glenkens. The Glenkens Hub features details about events, local businesses and activities.

The need for the website – which can be found at www.glenkens.scot – was identified as a priority in the local community action plan and builds on the success of the Glenkens Gazette.

Funding from the Galloway Glens Scheme and Blackcraig Wind Farm Community Fund allowed the development work to take place. The website was recently launched by the Glenkens Community and Art Trust (GCAT) at the CatStrand in New Galloway.

The project was overseen by the executive manager of the trust, Helen Keron, who said: “This is one of a number of really exciting projects that GCAT has developed as it leads on delivery of the Glenkens and District Community Action Plan. “It’s fantastic to see one of the key priorities that the communities set out in 2020 coming to fruition in such an accessible and useful way.
