Glastonbury 2024: King Krule briefly takes on Akon’s ‘Don’t Matter’

King Krule sang a couple of bars of Akon‘s 2006 hit ‘Don’t Matter’ at Glastonbury while performing on The Park Stage tonight.The London artist, real name Archy Marshall, teased a cover before beginning an intense, jazzy rendition of ‘Pink Shell’, from his 2023 album ‘Space Heavy‘.Towards the end of his set, the London musician brought his five-year-old daughter Marina on stage.

She wore a Princess Aurora dress and stood behind Marshall as he performed ‘Seaforth’, a track he dedicated to her, introducing it by saying: “This next song I wrote for my daughter”Marshall also used his performance to publicly share his support to the Free Palestine movement.

Prior to playing his final song ‘Portrait In Black And Blue’, he said: “Fuck The Occupation, Free Palestine,” before adding: “Fuck the UK Government.”Fans on X have been responding to Krule’s emotional set, which included an adjustment to ‘Space Heavy’, where he tweaked the lyrics to include the line “I think I’m sensitive“.
