Glasgow shopkeeper attacked after teen gang rampage through store

A shopkeeper has been left shaken after a gang of teens rampaged through the store and attacked a man working in the premises.The shop's owners say the store on Bilsland Drive in the Ruchill area of the city was targeted at around 7pm on Friday, February 21.

The man is said to have been taken to hospital where he sought medical treatment for facial injuries, reports Glasgow Live.Cops were called to the 'disturbance' and enquiries into the incident have now been launched.

CCTV footage shows a group of ten or more outside the store before an altercation erupts. At first, six individuals marched into the shop, with three circling the shopkeeper and edging closer towards him before he pushes them out of the store.

In an effort to protect himself, the staff member can be seen chasing the group with an object that appeared to be a large stick, before they reappear and begin to attack the front of the shop.The owner claims the member of staff was 'hit on the face' while others ran inside and stormed through store, knocking items behind the till down and smashing bottles.The owners are now warning other local businesses, saying "everyone please stay vigilant".A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8.15pm on Friday, 21 February, 2025, we were called to a report of a disturbance at a premises on Bilsland Drive in Glasgow."Officers attended however there was nothing ongoing at the time.
