The man, 28, popped out to meet someone when he was attacked with the meat cleaver and dashed back through their home crying "they've killed me, they've killed me." His girlfriend, 30, said she feared for his life after he was targeted with the weapon at around 7.30pm on Thursday in Fife, Scotland.
The couple, who do not wish to be named, recently got engaged and were settling in for a quiet night after a shopping trip when the victim remembered he had to meet someone.
