A 12-year-old girl who was arrested after another girl was stabbed before school has been released under investigation. The victim - an 11-year-old girl - was stabbed in the shoulder on Chapel Lane near to the Co-op Academy Manchester in Blackley on Monday morning.
She was taken to hospital from the scene. A police van was pictured outside of the school on Plant Hill Road after the incident as Greater Manchester Police said a 12-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of assault.
In an update issued today (Wednesday), a spokesperson for the force said she has since been released under police investigation. In a statement issued on Monday, a GMP spokesperson said: "At around 8.30am this morning, police were called to a report of a stabbing on Chapel Lane, Blackley. "Officers attended and located an 11-year-old girl with a small laceration to the top of her shoulder.
