Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Giovanni Perniceissued an emotional and lengthy statement tonight (Monday, September 30) after the BBC released the findings of its internal investigation.The probe came after Sherlock actress Amanda Abbington made a number of complaints against her former dance partner following their time together on the show last year.
After the BBC announced earlier today that it had upheld “some, but not all, of the complaints made", it also offered an apology to Amanda and thanked her for coming forward and taking part.This evening, 34-year-old Giovanni to Instagram to post a video and lengthy caption in which he said he was glad the issue was "over”, and admitted that the past six months had been “difficult”.
Addressing his 1.1 million followers, he said: "Hello everyone, it's me. It's over. It's finished. Six months, seven months of all of this.
Seven months of reading everyday things in the newspaper and not be able to respond because I wanted to keep the confidentiality and privacy of the review, was a difficult time.
