Giovanni Pernice breaks silence after fourth BBC Strictly star 'speaks out' against him

Giovanni Pernice has been backed up by fellow Strictly Come Dancing co-star and pal Anton Du Beke as he issued a message to fans.The 33-year-old professional dancer has been at the centre of a row regarding his behaviour on the BBC dance competition.

On the 2023 series, he was partnered with actress Amanda Abbington on the latest season of the show, who quit halfway through due to medical reasons but later claimed she had been diagnosed with PTSD.It was reported that the Sherlock star demanded to see behind the scenes footage of her time with Giovanni.

Since the feud came to light, Giovanni's other former Strictly partners are believed to have also come forward, the Mirror reports.Amanda reportedly met with Ranvir Singh and Laura Whitmore to talk about their experiences of working with the dancer when they starred in the show in previous seasons.New reports suggest that Steps star Faye Tozer also struggled to work with him.Giovanni's future on Strictly is now unclear following the reports he is "too intense" to train and dance with.

A source told The Sun: "Giovanni has a meeting with Strictly on Thursday about his return later this year. They have not received any official complaints and are backing him. "He is an accomplished pro dancer and it’s expected he will be taking his place in the formal line-up when it’s announced later this month.” While a show spokesperson later told the publication: "The pro dancers for 2024 will be announced in due course."The Italian dancer has since broken his silence following claims that Faye had challenges while working with him.
