A photo has emerged of the 'killer' XL Bully dog that mauled a "kind and caring" dad to death while he was out walking his puppy.Ian Langley, 54, was fatally injured when the "out of control" animal, named Titan, reportedly sank its teeth into his neck during the ferocious attack in Sunderland on October 3.Horrified neighbours told how their neighbour was lying on the floor and "stopped moving completely" before paramedics arrived.
The ferocious dog was shot dead by police at the scene and a second dog has also been seized. A 44-year-old man - who police believe was known to the victim - was initially arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, and was re-arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder report the Mirror.This terrifying attack is the latest in a spate of incidents which has caused concern from the public and prompted the Government to look at banning American XL bully dogs.
The Prime Minister promised to ban the breed in September under the Dangerous Dogs Act by the end of the year.An official spokesman for Rishi Sunak said a "transition period" would be introduced, with details likely to follow a consultation on the plan.
In the most recent incident, it is understood that Ian was walking his Patterdale puppy, Beau, at the time of the attack. The pet bolted but was rescued and is now being looked after by a friend of his, according to reports.
