Gerard Butler is in talks to star in the upcoming movie Empire State, an action-thriller about an attack on the New York City skyscraper.

The movie will be directed by Den of Thieves director Christian Gudegast, marking a reunion for the actor and filmmaker. Head inside to learn more about the film… Deadline reports that in the upcoming movie, “when the Empire State Building comes under attack by a military contractor hellbent on revenge, Navy SEAL turned NY firefighter Rhett (Butler) and NYPD Tactical officer Dani (yet to be cast) must put aside their relationship troubles as they work to rescue hostages and save the famous landmark.” Gerard is currently filming the sequel to his movie Greenland and he recently wrapped production on the How to Train Your Dragon live-action movie.
