'The world's highest minimum wage' will be rolled out in Geneva which means you'll be paid at least £41,430 if you are one of its lucky residents.
Workers in the Swiss city will receive a salary of at least £3,500 a month after a referendum saw two-thirds of its 500,000 voters back the new measure.
The new policy will come into effect from October 17, The Telegraph reports. It was previously rejected by voters twice before in both 2011 and 2014.
The measure relies on revenue from tourists and business visitors so has been hit financially by the coronavirus pandemic. This has also seen struggling families in Geneva turn to food banks with queues of more than half a mile long being witnesses at the peak of the Covid-19 crisis.
