The 33-year-old, who is partnered with radio presenter Nikita Kanda, has been open and honest about having to leave behind his young family as he gets to work on the new series of the hit dance show.
As the launch show aired, Gorka was back in Greater Manchester spending precious time with Gemma and their two children. The couple, who met on Strictly Come Dancing in 2017 before making their romance official the following year, welcomed baby son Thiago Thomas Marquez into the world in July, just over four years after their first-born, daughter Mia, was born.
Days after Thiago's arrival, Gorka had to leave the family home and head to London where rehearsals for Strictly were taking place ahead of the series, which began last month.
