Gemma Atkinson has insisted 'kids need germs' after fans criticised her for letting daughter Mia, three, share her lollipop with the family dog.
The 37 year old, who shares her three year old daughter with her fiancé, Strictly Come Dancing pro Gorka Marquez, 31, spoke out a day after she shared the video of Mia and her pet dog Norman.
In the clip, Mia held out the lolly to her four legged friend, who then licked it, Mia could then be seen taking the same lolly and putting it back in her mouth as Gemma wrote: “Sharing is caring." Fans at home were not happy with the situation however and launched a string of negative comments at the former Hollyoaks actress criticising the behaviour and demanding it “unhygienic.” Gemma however was quick to clap back at her critics as she took to social media to defend her stance on the subject. "A lot of anger today about Mia sharing a lolly with Norman,” she wrote. “KIDS NEED GERMS.
If you think that's bad, you should see me wrestling with her to not open sanitary bins in public loos! “Or when she used to share her dummy with other kids at nursery, or when she comes home from nan's covered in mud from playing [in] the park. “Also, dogs have bacteria in their mouth, but not as much as humans [thumbs up emoji],” she concluded.
