mirror.co.ukPop star Gary Numan celebrated his first hits by booking a holiday – to a campsite. While chart rivals like Simon Le Bon splashed out on super yachts and villas in the Med, cash-conscious Gary rented a static caravan in Weymouth, Dorset.
The electronic music pioneer booked the break after Are ‘Friends’ Electric? and Cars both hit No1 in 1979 and he and his band Tubeway Army appeared on Top Of The Pops for the first time.
Gary, 62, said: “Simon Le Bon bought a mega yacht and went to Montserrat. “I rented a caravan at Littlesea Camp in Weymouth. “We rented a really big caravan up on the hill and I honestly thought I was living the life!” Gary, who now lives with his wife and three daughters in California, said the trip also brought back fond
