United were comfortable victors on Sunday despite Eddie Howe's side having plenty of possession at Wembley Stadium. The Reds took the lead in the 33rd minute when Luke Shaw's free kick was nodded home by Casemiro.

Marcus Rashford made it two, five minutes later when his strike deflected off Sven Botman and into Loris Karius' goal. Newcastle pushed for a goal back after the interval but United proved to be good value for their League Cup triumph.
