Gary McAllister has explained the "gobsmacked" reaction of English pals to the SPFL voting chaos that has rocked Scottish football.The former Liverpool star is currently holed-up in his family home in Yorkshire but he certainly hasn't been lonely as he fields calls from shocked friends wanting the lowdown on action north of the border.And McAllister has backed the position of the club and his boss Steven Gerrard in calling for an independent inquiry into the governance of the SPFL after Dundee's controversial u-turn saw the motion to end lower leagues early eventually pass on Wednesday.He told BT Sport: "The facts are that it’s been an untidy week for me, it’s looked messy right from the word go: yes votes, no votes, the changing of minds."
