A Twitter poll carried out by Livingston to decide the future of goalkeeper Gary Maley has raised nearly £2400 for charity.The Premiership club hit the headlines last month when nearly 200,000 votes were cast on the club’s Twitter account asking if the Lions should offer a new contract to their 37-year-old third-choice keeper.It was all for a good cause, though, and a total of £2395 has been raised for the John O’Byrne Foundation.Maley himself pledged to donate his first two months’ wages — a figure which was matched by Head of Football Operations, David Martindale.The Foundation was set up to support children who spend a lot of time in hospital with long term illnesses.John O’Byrne thanked the club and fans, saying: “The money Davie, Gary.
