The £52million City paid Borussia Dortmund for the Norwegian was already a bargain, but it now looks to be the steal of the century as he takes England by storm.
Lineker, who knows a thing or two about scoring goals, sees a bit of himself in Haaland but the 22-year-old has traits that even he didn't possess. "I’ve seen him for Dortmund, I’ve watched a lot of football - I’m mad. "His movement, he gets it, he’s almost unstoppable when he’s running, he’s not one of those who wants to go deep and engage in the build-up play, like Kane or even Salah. "He reminds of myself a little bit in the sense of his desire to score goals, hunger to get behind defences and to attack space in the box there are a lot of similarities there, I think he’ll be better because he’s banging them in at a ridiculous rate already and he’s so big - which I wasn’t - but he’s powerful and quick and a really good finisher."
