Gareth Thomas has signed up for ‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins'. The former Welsh rugby star, 48, is thought to have been enlisted for the Channel 4 military endurance show alongside ex Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton and former ‘Love Island’ star Montana Brown for the next season.

A source told The Sun newspaper's TV Biz column: “Gareth is the latest big signing to have joined the 'Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins' line-up. “He is a fantastic name and the production team think he will make for some fantastic television. “Gareth has flown out with his co-stars to Thailand for filming and is over there now. “They decided to switch up the location after filming in Jordan for the series which is on screen now. “Everyone working on the show is hugely excited about the new show and think it will be just as successful as the series that is on now. ” In the current season - which is hosted by Marine Rudy Reyes - ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star Ferne McCann was seen breaking down in tears as she almost reached breaking point.

The 32-year-old reality TV personality - who features on the show alongside athlete Fatima Whitbread, ex ‘EastEnders’ star Maisie Smith and boxer Shannon Courtenay - broke down after declaring herself “royally f***** and done”.

As Mark ‘Billy’ Billingham tried to comfort her, Ferne said: “I’m just so royally f***** and done. My head was all over. “I’m sick of crying, I’m not good at it. ” Previously, the ‘First Time Mum’ star revealed why she signed up for the mentally and physically testing show.
