A 'prolific' gangland firearms dealer who told police ‘I’ve been waiting for you’ during a raid at his home has finally been jailed.
Chris Dixon and his associate Elliot Hopewell have been locked up for more than 37 years after a specialist probe in 2020 uncovered incriminating phone chats.
Officers uncovered around 6000 messages from Dixon’s phone which boasted about selling Spice, amphetamines and weapons including a hand grenade and an Uzi submachine gun.
The duo were also caught out after discussing how Hopewell had helped Dixon, 44, with the £7500 sale of a Colt special revolver to a person who openly stated they needed it for criminal acts.Further messages highlighted how Hopewell, 40, sold Dixon 20kg of Spice with the aim of it being distributed in prisons for maximum profit, ChronicleLive reports.
