Lena Headey will be traveling on the Oregon trail. The 49-year-old Game of Thrones actress has just been cast to star in a new Western by the Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter. Lena will play a mother of four on the show, who is driven by “her faith and love for her family.” Keep reading to find out more… “As a group of diverse, outlier families pursue their Manifest Destiny in 1850s Oregon, a corrupt force of wealth and power, coveting their land, tries to force them out,” the official description reads, per Deadline. “These abandoned souls, the kind of lost souls living on the fringe of society, unite their tribes to form a family and fight back.
In this bloody process, ‘justice’ is stretched beyond the boundaries of the law.” Lena earned five Emmy nominations for her role in HBO’s Game of Thrones.
She also notably starred in the films 300 and Dredd as well as the TV series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Netflix has ordered 10 episodes of The Abandons.
There is no release date yet for the series. Last year, Lena Headey and Ozark‘s Marc Menchaca got married in Italy and a few of her Game of Thrones stars were seen at the nuptials.
