Game of Thrones' Samwell Tarly star makes very special visit to Wythenshawe
manchestereveningnews.co.ukPupils at a high school in Wythenshawe got a Christmas surprise when a famous alumnus returned for a visit. John Bradley West, best known for his role as Samwell Tarly in HBO's Game of Thrones, visited St Paul's RC High School, where he was a pupil.
The actor sat for questions with pupils at the school and reconnected with some staff who had been there when he attended some 19 years ago.
John also formally 'opened' a school drama studio which has been named after him. Since leaving school, John landed his breakout role in Game of Thrones playing the intelligent and kind-hearted Samwell Tarly.
Since then he has gone on to secure major roles alongside A-listers including Jennifer Lopez, Owen Wilson, and Halle Berry. John still lives in Manchester with his family.
