‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Doctor Who’ actor Ian Gelder has died, age 74
nme.comGame Of Thrones, has died at the age of 74.Gelder’s passing was confirmed on social media via his partner Ben Daniels. Daniels wrote in a lengthy post on Instagram: “It is with huge huge sadness and a heavy heart broken into a million pieces that I’m leaving this post to announce the passing of my darling husband and life partner Ian Gelder.”Daniels revealed that Gelder had been “diagnosed with bile duct cancer in December” and that he had stopped work to take care of Gelder but “neither of us had any idea that it would all be so fast”.A post shared by Ben (@bendanielsss)Daniels added: “He was a wonderful wonderful actor and everyone who worked with him was touched by his heart and light.”On Game Of Thrones, Gelder played Kevan Lannister, the younger brother of Lord Tywin Lannister.
Gelder appeared in 12 episodes for the hit HBO fantasy series. Gelder was also known for playing Zellin in season 12 of Doctor Who opposite Jodie Whittaker.
