Taylor Swift has written a letter to two Galway paddleboarders who sang her songs while lost at sea in the Atlantic Ocean. Cousins Ellen Glynn and Sara Feeney made headlines August 2020 when they were swept out at sea at Furbo Beach.

They had been out for an evening paddle when strong winds pushed them further and further out from the shore. Unable to paddle back to land, the pair were stuck on the water for 15 hours before eventually being rescue by father and son fishermen Patrick and Morgan Oliver.

The pair were found 27km from where they had set off with their paddleboards at Furbo Beach. Neither of the women had their phone with them when they set out, meaning they had no means to call for help.
