Joe Otterson TV Reporter FX claimed the title of most wins by a network at the Emmy Awards, thanks in large part to the night’s biggest winners, “Shogun” and “The Bear“ FX finished the night with36 total wins, with “Shogun” picking up18 and “The Bear” getting11.
This marks the first time in at least 15 years that the top network of the night was not Netflix or HBO. It is also the first time FX has topped all other networks in total wins.
FX’s best year prior to this was in 2016 with 18 wins. “The Bear” broke its own recordfor most wins by a comedy series in a single year, topping last year’s 10 wins.
Cast members Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Liza Colón-Zayas all won statuettes, as did series creator Chris Storer in the best directing for a comedy category.
