Furious Well Society board member Derek Watson has blasted Motherwell over their handling of chief executive Alan Burrows' departure to Aberdeen.Burrows announced on January 12 that he was stepping down after 15 years at the Lanarkshire club - nine ass CEO - and the club said he would remain in post until a replacement was found. However, Aberdeen have this morning announced that Burrows will take up the role of chief executive at Pittodrie on February 27.Watson says fans haven't been told the truth and will be seeking clarity from the Fir Park club.He also says the club now face a race against time to avoid being left without a CEO in place.Pointing out several items in the statement issued by Aberdeen, including that Motherwell chairman Jim McMahon had facilitated the move, Watson has been irked by the events. In a social media post, Watson said: "I wish Alan all the best, a top man who I've no doubt will do a great job at Aberdeen."I do, however, have grave concerns that Motherwell fans were informed he would remain in post until a replacement was found, only for Aberdeen to announce our chairman facilitated a smooth transition."I will be raising this with The Well Society board and seeking clarity."As a fan-owned club our members should not be taken for granted, and should be presented facts."The board now face the task of recruiting a replacement before 27.02 to align with the above club statements."Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
