'Furiosa' Director Explains Why Anya Taylor Joy, the Film's Star, Only Has 30 Lines of Dialogue

You may be shocked to learn that in the two hour and 30 minute long movie, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the film’s star Anya Taylor Joy only has about 30 lines of dialogue.

The 28-year-old actress is the film’s leading and title character, and yet, she speaks rather minimally for what one would consider to be the star of the film.

Now, in a new interview, the film’s director George Miller is explaining the decision to keep her dialogue to a minimum. Keep reading to find out more… According to The Telegraph, Miller explained the reason why he kept her dialogue down was because too much speaking, in his opinion, slows down films and it’s better to be enjoyed at a brisk pace.

If you don’t know, Anya stars as the younger version of the character made famous by Charlize Theron in 2015′s Mad Max.
