Fuming residents blockade street with wheelie bins to tackle 'ridiculous' parking

Fuming residents have resorted to blockading a street with wheelie bins in a desperate bid to stop "ridiculous" parking outside their homes.

People living near Nottingham City Hospital have taken action to stop motorists from abandoning their cars in inappropriate places on the road.

Residents on Alderton Roan on the Edwards Lane estate say they are sick of other drivers parking on yellow lines, in disabled bays, at bus stops and across their driveways.

In recent weeks, some buses on the Alderton and neighbouring roads have been unable to stop due to the parked cars, bus operator Nottingham City Transport (NCT) said.
